Curtis A. Smith, CFP®, founded Interactive Capital Management (ICMC), in 1991 in order to focus on fiduciary standards and value producing services. Mr. Smith has over 29 years of financial planning and investment management experience.
In 1974, Curtis completed two undergraduate degrees (Bachelors of Business Administration with concentrations in management and marketing) at Texas Tech University. Curtis received the CFP® designation in June 1984 from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.
Curtis discovered the perfect career match in 1980 with his entry to the financial services industry. In 1982, he established Curtis A. Smith & Associates, launching Curtis into the financial planning industry. In 1992, Curtis transitioned into a fee-only advisor and renamed his firm Interactive Capital Management.
Mr. Smith’s background includes experience in the healthcare industry, including positions with American Hospital Supply and LifeMark Hospitals. This experience and knowledge serves current and prospective clients in the medical, dental and healthcare professions.

CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Curtis regularly pursues continuing education to remain abreast of developments in the field of financial planning and investment management. These endeavors include requirements and standards of 30 to 60 hours per year by the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), CFP® Board of Standards, and the Financial Planning Association (FPA).
He routinely attends NAPFA and FPA continuing education conferences each year. To meet estate planning needs, Curtis maintains a membership in the Houston Estate and Financial Forum. Curtis exceeds the required minimum education requirements by a wide margin every reporting cycle.
