Comprehensive Plans

Simplifying the Complex

A financial plan is much more than investment advice. To create your plan, we reference all factors related to your financial profile. If we’ve done our job, you’ll understand the reasons for our recommendations.

Planning Process

As part of the planning process, we identify a client’s specific needs to ensure a personalized plan. Throughout the process, goals are identified, modified, and implemented into an action plan.

Meeting #1: Initial Meeting This “getting to know you” meeting allows us to determine if we are a win/win fit. The initial meeting is complimentary. You set the agenda addressing what you want to accomplish. As part of the meeting, we ask you to fill out the firm’s financial organizer in preparation for the Data-Gathering Meeting.

Meeting #2: Data-Gathering Meeting At this meeting, we review your financial organizer and any related financial documents and information. Following the complimentary meeting, ICMC composes an engagement letter which outlines the client agreement and provides a fee quote. If you choose to engage ICMC, return the signed agreement along with the first quarter fee to initiate your plan.

Meeting #3: Foundation Meeting The third meeting focuses on your current financial situation. We’ll review your insurance (e.g., property, casualty, life, and health), as well as college funding goals, net worth statements, and cash flow to determine the strength of your financial foundation. At this meeting, we arrange for the transfer of investment assets.

Meeting #4:  Risk Management and Estate Planning This meeting will address estate planning education, estate planning document revision, (e.g., power of attorney, living wills, and guardianship) and refining your risk management insurance initiatives from Meeting #3. By the end of this meeting, we’ll have set your financial foundation, enabling you to move forward with long-term planning.

Meeting #5:  Retirement Planning and Investment 101 This meeting reviews your retirement goals and methods. You’ll gain a better understanding of investment expectations, and we’ll complete the ICMC Risk Tolerance Questionnaire. We will measure your preferred risk level against your current risk level.

Meeting #6:  Investment Planning This meeting addresses the issue of your current investment policy versus our recommendations to meet your long and short term goals. As part of the meeting, we will walk through asset class allocation, diversification, and historical analysis to provide you with a foundation for improved portfolio risk/return.

Coordination and Implementation:  Over the remainder of the year, we’ll meet periodically to review plans made during the earlier meetings. By serving as an accountability partner, we’ve found clients enjoy greater plan success.

Fees:  Our financial planning fees are tailored to your needs. A Comprehensive Financial Plan starts at $5,000, with complexity of needs determining the ultimate cost. The planning process is designed to be completed in one year, with fees due in advance at the end of each quarter during the process. An on-going services agreement is executed at the end of meeting #6.
